Irish Solo Dress
One of my oldest hobbies is sewing, and I raced against the clock to finish this dress in time to wear it for the 2020 St. Patrick’s Day Irish Dance performance — right before it was canceled due to the pandemic, of course. For this dress, I used a pattern from fellow dancer and seamstress Mattie Ernst, creator behind earnestthreads.com. With the pattern as a starting guide for the shape, I designed the details, including the embroidered celtic knots and the hand-crocheted lace rosettes for the collar (still in progress and very tedious!).
